Council currently provides a kerbside recycling service in Gracemere and Rockhampton. Accepted in your yellow lidded recycling bin are:
- All paper & cardboard
- Glass bottles & jars
- Aluminium cans & steel cans (including aerosols)
- Milk & juice cartons
- Plastic containers (Recycling symbol: Numbers 1-7)
Council manages a number of recycling drop-off centres in the Capricorn Coast area. Items accepted at recycling drop off centres are:
- Paper & cardboard
- Glass bottles & jars
- Steel cans
- Metals
- Plastics (Recycling symbol: Numbers 1,2 and 5)
Recyclable materials placed in recycling bins or drop off areas must not be contaminated with waste materials, containers must be rinsed clean and free from contents. Remember to compact bulky items to fit more into your recycling bin.
